Founded in 1971, Hastings School is a school that is growing rapidly with a new 21st Century Sixth Form teaching block opened in September 2019 and a new Primary campus in September 2021.

The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced French Teacher to join our fantastic team part-time.

About the role
As a French Teacher, you will inspire a love of language and learning in every student you teach. You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons that stretch, support, and challenge learners across a range of abilities. With a commitment to high academic standards and student wellbeing, you'll use data to inform your teaching and provide clear, constructive feedback. Beyond the classroom, you'll contribute to wider school life,
from form tutoring and extra-curricular activities to attending key school events and engaging in ongoing professional development. You'll play a key role in shaping a positive, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment.
This is a part-time, 0.7 FTE, temporary contract acting as Maternity Cover. There is a proposed December 2025 start date.

Who we are looking for:
You’re an enthusiastic and qualified French teacher with a passion for education and a genuine love for working with young people. You bring strong organisational skills, a collaborative mindset, and an understanding of effective teaching and assessment. You value diversity, adapt well to change, and are driven to support every student’s progress. You must have experience of teaching KS3 and IGCSE as this would be the focus of the post,
and a commitment to safeguarding is second nature to you. If you’re ready to contribute to a forward-thinking school and make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
