Wireless Networking Project Manager – Madrid, Spain

Overview :





We are seeking an experienced Wireless Networking Project Manager to oversee the deployment and optimization of wireless infrastructure in a retail environment. This role involves managing the installation of cabling, access points, controllers, and ensuring robust testing and validation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

- Cabling Installation Management : Coordinate with Westpoint to ensure cabling is installed, tested, and signed off at regular intervals. Maintain up-to-date trackers for AP installations and testing phases.
- Access Point Deployment : Manage the deployment of access points and controllers, ensuring thorough testing and documentation of progress.
- Wi-Fi Stability Monitoring : Collaborate with Forfusion to monitor the stability of Wi-Fi access points post-deployment and address any issues promptly.
- Retail Implementation Scheduling : Own and manage the retail implementation schedule, coordinating with the Retail Coordinator to ensure timely updates and communication with all stakeholders.
- Brand Coordination : Address concerns raised by brands in collaboration with Value Retail,



ensuring resolutions are agreed upon and implemented.
- Brand Refits : Work with the Village Retail Development Team to ensure Wi-Fi access points are installed in units during refits, managing the overlay of refits on the access point installation plan.
- Testing and Validation : Conduct testing during deployment to validate roaming and coverage, liaising with brands to ensure compliance with Value Retail Wi-Fi guidelines.
- Passive Infrastructure Coordination : Liaise with third-party providers to ensure dependent services, such as electrical supply and access point cover painting, are available as planned.
- Go-Live Preparation : Lead preparations for go-live, participate in overnight cutover activities, and assist in compiling and managing the snagging list to resolution.
- Decommissioning :



Oversee the decommissioning and "make good" of the old Wi-Fi infrastructure, coordinating with suppliers as required.

Meeting Schedule :

- Daily : Status update with PM Europe (Teams)
- Weekly : Install schedule review with Retail Coordinators (In Person)
- Weekly : Project Review (all parties)
- Adhoc : Regular check-ins with Operations Team and Westpoint site foremen

Reporting :

- Input / draft weekly PHR

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Qualified in Prince2 or equivalent project management framework
- Proficient in spoken and written English and Spanish
- Excellent communication skills at all levels within a business
- Proven record of managing both supplier and internal business teams
- Strong planning, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and make decisive decisions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills





Additional Information :

- A valid work permit allowing full-time employment in Spain is required.
- Candidates must be fluent in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
