The role of the Area Sales Manager – Machine Tools will involve :
- Field sales position selling a large manufactured portfolio of CNC machines, machine tools, lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, boring machines and fabrication machines
- 70% of your time selling directly into mechanical engineers
- Remainder of time selling direct into other engineering customers, aerospace, automotive,energy sector, marine, MOD & Government facilities
- 60% new business development role, you will be provided with target lists of customers to approach and will also follow up on plenty of leads vis the office / website
- 40% account management of some existing customers and pipeline on the area
- Typically 3.5 days per week on the road,
rest of time working from home with monthly visits to the midlands based office
- Taking customers to the office to show them our clients showroom
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Machine Tools with :
- Ideally some understanding of machine tools and field sales experience
- Open to other field sales backgrounds who focus on mechanical engineers
- Would consider no sales experience with related industry experience, e.g. a service engineer looking for 1st field sales role
- May consider other field sales tooling experience with a strong desire to move into machine tools
- Technically capable
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Strong features and benefits sales experience, must be able to negotiate and close!
- Excellent presentation and demonstrating skills
- A practical and professional hands on competent approach
- Excellent organisational / territory planning skills
