Specialist, Fundraising Event (Peer-to-Peer)

World Vision Canadas Peer to Peer team is charged with pioneering easy yet powerful ways to help Canadians engage their family and friends in fundraising towards impactful causes that matters to them. To do this, we are taking supporter-centric and digital-first approaches to build best-in-class Peer to Peer experiences.
Were seeking an experienced Fundraising Specialist whos passionate about creating and supporting fundraising experiences that help people leverage their networks for philanthropy. You will take ownership of managing relationships with WVCs Ambassadors and highly engaged volunteers as well as the marketing strategy and execution of all Peer-to-Peer events, including positioning, messaging, content, and go-to-market execution with various channel teams.
The Fundraising Specialist recruits, engages, and supports external individuals, Ambassadors, and groups who are passionate about fundraising on behalf of WVC. This includes collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders across WVC on behalf of these groups in support of the successful execution and delivery of events or other P2P fundraisers that achieve shared objectives.
As part of an agile product team, the Fundraising Specialist will work closely with the Product Manager to understand sector trends, target audiences, designing experiments, and realize the stories in the backlog as to drive Peer to Peer success and revenue growth, and deliver greater resources to the field.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ownership of end-to-end relationship management including recruitment, engagement, and support for all external customers such as Ambassadors, volunteers or other individuals organizing P2P fundraisers on behalf of WVC.
Ownership of the marketing and execution strategy of the Peer-to-Peer events portfolio.
Responsible for the strategy and development of new Peer to Peer event initiatives, tests, and opportunities to increase and enhance the existing Peer to Peer events portfolio.
Act as Subject Matter Expert for recruiting, engaging, supporting, and managing relationships with external customers to support Peer to Peer efforts.
Act as Subject Matter Expert for all Peer-to-Peer events and responsible for the successful development and end-to-end execution of such events ensuring that the vision and goals for each event are met and exceeded.
Provides project management for all WVC Peer to Peer events, supporting the development and execution of project plans for each event, as well as end-to-end execution including. coordinating all incentives, streamlining logistics, volunteer recruitment and .
Leads and supports event marketing strategies to increase reach, engagement, and results.
Perform post-event analysis and reporting as well as the completion of key operational reports to support the achievement of WVC objectives, goals and KPIs.
Leads the execution of all operations for Peer-to-Peer events, such as establishing and tracking budgets, managing internal processes for payments and invoices, as well as creating and monitoring contracts including drafting SoWs.
Work collaboratively with third party vendors and partners as needed to support the successful execution of Peer-to-Peer events to achieve shared objectives.
Lead ongoing communications and manage relationships with external individuals, Ambassadors, and group fundraisers, building relationships and fostering engagement to enhance their partnership experience with WVC.
Support the development of tools and processes to support efficiency, scale and excellence acting as key Subject Matter Expert and internal representation for our external Peer to Peer partners.
Create engaging, supporter-centric cultivation, as well as making recommendations for cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
Post-secondary education in Fundraising, Sales, or Marketing, preferably with a specialization in Event Management.
5 years of fundraising, marketing, or sales experience (ideally for a non-profit organization).
3 years event management and/or project management experience and/or volunteer engagement experience.
Experience or related experience in volunteer coordination/staff recruitment including onboarding processes.
Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
Customer focused, energetic, and solution oriented.
Analytical, organized, detail-oriented and able to make objective and critical evaluations and resolutions.
Ability to work independently and creatively, while maintaining tight deadlines and holding accountability for projects.
Ability to deliver outstanding service in a constantly evolving environment.
Ability to work under pressure.
Understanding and application of agile principles, practices, and SAFe.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong in MS Office and LMS software such as Adobe Captivate.
