HPs Enterprise Architecture team defines the target architecture, blueprints and transformation roadmaps for key strategic initiatives including transformation programs, aligning the technology and platforms to the business strategy or commercial imperatives and articulates associated opportunities, gaps, challenges and risks. Additionally, the team provide architecture assurance within the overall HP governance framework, participates in strategic planning activities and maintains the overall HP-wide knowledge of our enterprise architecture.



Description



HP is looking for exceptional, experienced Enterprise Architect to join the M&A IT team to support ongoing development and lead strategic initiatives associated with Acquisitions,

Mergers, Divestitures and Outsourcing. The scope of the role is global with multiple stakeholders across multiple HP divisions, and technology teams (IT, NBE, The target etc.). Working closely with the M&A Program management team to Engage Business and IT leadership, senior management teams, platform or service leads and architects to define the end state architecture, align IT strategy and integration or divestiture roadmaps, and support detailed transition planning and business cases.



The role needs an ambitious, energetic, self-starter with a passion for Enterprise Architecture with experience of enterprise and digital transformation programs.



Great communication skills and quick to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Keen to take accountability and ownership of the target enterprise architecture, enjoy working under pressure, maintaining confidence and responsiveness to meet deadlines with excellent organizational skills. Having a strong mix of professional and emotional intelligence is critical to success. Flexibility is considered a key skill in this role. You may be called on for numerous activities that are not strictly architecture and you will need to be able to think on your feet. This person will enjoy driving meaningful change and innovation and have a track record of bringing people along the journey with them.



This person will thrive on a challenge and solving impossible problems and are comfortable with continuous organizational change and ongoing business transformation.



Reporting line



The Enterprise Architect M&A role will report into the Head of Enterprise Architecture. However, this role will be 100% dedicated to M&A activities.



Responsibilities:

Lead Enterprise Architecture definition and provide architecture assurance for complex or strategic Acquisitions, Merger, Divestitures and Outsourcing initiatives



Establish relationships with architects, peers and stakeholder groups within HP and 3rd parties to define and communicate the target architecture and transformation plans for assigned initiatives.



Maintain and align enterprise architecture body of knowledge as it relates to M&A our understanding of HPs IT landscape and update to reflect the Target architecture, aligned to the outcomes of the initiatives.



As it is related to M&A activities, ensure the Enterprise Architecture team and the architecture body of knowledge is used to facilitate technology governance and management within Divisions and across technology, performing impact analysis and risk identification for change initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, strategic planning and change initiatives



Collaborate with the Technology and Business stakeholders to identify risks to delivery



Collaborate with delivery teams and solution/domain architects on overall architecture assurance and critical technology decisions to ensure alignment with target architecture and transformation roadmaps.



Collaborate with colleagues within Information Security and Compliance to ensure alignment between Enterprise Architecture and the HP IT Controls framework



Providing target architecture and road-map knowledge to assist with business case development, cost benefit modelling and project initiation documents to support the approval of change initiatives



Provide Enterprise architecture leadership for due diligence and discovery activities (Transition)

Able to critically review with the ability to challenge and provide constructive feedback



Ability to influencing stakeholders to ensure strategic objectives of the platform services are communicated, understood and achieved



Ability to work as part of matrix and virtual teams that include senior stakeholders, and business and technology subject matter experts



Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex technical concepts and information to diverse audiences with varying degrees of technical understanding.



Must be able to inspire stakeholder confidence in solutions being put forth being able to influence and communicate rational behind thought processes.



Strong budgeting abilities and road mapping expertise



Strong analytical skills:

Ability to collect, organize, and analyses data; summarize findings, and risks, derive conclusions and present recommendations.



Act with integrity, tact and diplomacy to formulate trust at all levels



What were looking for



Bachelors degree, preferably in an IT or engineering related field



5- years of experience as an Enterprise Architect



2- years of experience in M&A enterprise architecture in the technology industry



Experienced in both definition and leadership of Enterprise Architecture in the context of Acquisitions, Mergers, Divestitures and Outsourcing



Experience working on Due Diligence, Discovery and integration or separation planning, working with a cross functional (non-IT) team to develop initial budgets and timelines



Extensive experience performing in an EA role across multiple divisions or business units, developing and maturing the architecture capabilities, while also operating as part of a centralized, federated or coordinated EA Organization



Extensive experience in working with Business Leadership, e.g. Divisional CEO, CIO, Market or Product Owners, to define and align enterprise architecture to strategic plans and commercial objectives



Extensive experience collaborating with CIO and IT Leadership



Experience of adopting/adapting multiple enterprise architectural methodologies and frameworks to be defined used to define and communicate architectures with all stakeholder groups



Experience working with in global organizations operating within, IT Control, Risk management and Compliance frameworks.



Proven ability to adapt to changes and unexpected turns with agility; ability to recognize the need to change direction and quickly pivot to the new plan; role model for how to effectively respond to change and help others adapt as well
