Job Description

Objectives



- Drive the research and discovery for a product area, while understanding the longer term context of our full solution set

- Discover and document the target market segment specifics 

- Understand the problems of our target companies and users

- Research the solutions and competitors our targets are using for those problems today

- Propose how we differentiate

- Define the components that will be a part of each solution

- Validate and iterate

- Propose license models in line with target market expectations

- Define the customer experience expectations for discovery, consideration, try/purchase, activate, configure, adopt, support, buy more,

and transition to another of our solutions

- Propose target segments and boundries over time periods and products

- Propose offering evolutions and strategy; what are the triggers between current solution and the "next" solution?

- Partner with sales enablement, marketing, services, and support to generate clearly defined objectives and timelines for launch readiness. 

- Partner with sales and marketing to generate interest

- Focus the organization on our target

- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and security to streamline launch and GTM



Tasks



- Identify assumptions

- Work with services, suite success, support, and sales to gather existing research

- Partner with CI group to leverage existing research and drive new

- Conduct and Convey outcomes from Interviews of our target buyers and users

- Clearly articulate business objectives for user researchers

- Work with UX to perform Focus group analysis

- Collaborate with UX to execute surveys

- Talk to customers we have, but critically balance with understanding the customers we don't have

- Identify buyers and influencers and formalize value propositions with product marketing

- Communicate business benefits and strategy to a variety of internal groups

- Research competitors licenses models and GTM strategies, understand where we can/should/shouldn't be different

- Articulate customer's desire and benefits of self service distribution

- Participate with marketing on target audience definition for campaigns

- Competitive positioning content

- Socialize the problem(s) we're solving in an org and market consumable way

- Help generate sales qualification assets

- Provide quantitative and qualitative data justifications for pricing proposals

- Define the consumption strategy for the components of the Suite

Detailed Description and Job Requirements



Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.



As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.



Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
