Summary of the Job

The Technical Delivery Lead guides, coaches and empowers the agile teams on using agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.

The role is responsible to get teams to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.

The role is responsible for collaborating on and co-creating products with designers, architects, developers, and clients in the areas of communication, project and product management, and high-level product architecture. This includes ensuring scrum is understood, CI/CD tools are correctly used and that the team adheres to scrum’s best practices and guidelines, using automated testing, software quality assurance and related agile methods.

Technical Delivery Leads are also expected to be ‘hands on’ with Software Development and require strong experience with one or more leading enterprise software development languages and tools including Java, C#, .NET, Angular and SQL and approach of cloud-based applications. This includes acting as a de-facto solution architect and senior developer when needed, collaborating with platform and enterprise architects for more complex topics.

The role will be part of the newly implemented agile teams in the EMEA Development Center organization orchestrating projects with external development partners, and accountable for overall end to end project or product delivery.

 The preferred location for this role is Malaga, Spain. Working hours are flexible and international travel required due to the global, collaborative nature and need to work with colleagues in Asia Pacific and the Americas.

Duties and Responsibilities: What tasks belong to the job?

- Ownership and accountability of establishing agile values, methods, principles and practices for successful end-to-end delivery of projects and products.

- Facilitate agile ceremonies, e.g. product backlog refinement, preplanning, planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives.

- Manage stakeholders and vendors interfaces as required for the product or project development, including assisting the product owner to manage the product backlog.

- Challenging and improving the operation of the team, improving their performance and capabilities.

- Being a problem solver, eliminating conflicts, assist the team in developing appropriate solution strategies, and keep an eye on potential future tensions.

- Actively participates and promotes communities of practice in areas of expertise.

- Support the team to improve their technical work by reviewing results, undertaking code reviews and establish lessons learned as well as developing team talent.

- Solution architecture and hands on software development as needed to support a successful project or product outcome.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Seven or more years hands on software development experience in Java, C#, Angular, .NET, SQL or similar language, tools and support of cloud-based applications.

• Lead or managed development teams up to five people or more in size, preferably in a cross border and/or cross-cultural environment.

• Tertiary IT qualification in Computer Science, related discipline or equivalent industry experience required.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Strong software development experience (C#, Java, Angular, .Net or similar) including knowledge of object-oriented programming, principles, and common software design patterns.

• Experience managing external partners for software development and consultancy including commercials, budget, planning and controlling.

• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

• Familiar with agile methods and experience in coaching and training individuals and teams in agile concepts and practices.

• Experience working with, and enhancing, Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Development (CD) environments, automated testing tools, software quality assurance and related agile methods.

• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture, API first design, systems integration, and middleware solutions.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and related software development libraries and APIs.

• Working knowledge of common SQL and No-SQL based datastores including Mongo DB, Cosmos and SQL Server.

• Ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• A life-long learner and committed to excellence.

• Experience in end-to-end project or product delivery.
