This is a highly strategic position, leading supply chain design and manufacturing footprint changes across GSK. With a broad, network-based view, we need to make sure the GSK Manufacturing network has a clear set of operational principles based on Product/Brand and its lifecycle. This means supporting new products prior to launch, through growth and established products through optimisation.

We need this person to successfully balance the use of our internal network versus the capability of our CMO partners, preparing and setting direction of change across the network based on a partnership with commercial. You will maintain an awareness of emerging needs, including localisation, and will prepare proposals that allow GSK to respond to opportunities in a timely and agile manner. You will have a firm grasp of benchmarks and external trends in the industry. This role will work across different Therapy Areas, influencing senior levels of the business, and building partnerships across multiple functions including R&D;, Quality, Regulatory, Finance etc.

This Franchise leadership role is key in reaching our Future Ready ambitions. Your success will ensure the delivery of strategic programmes, support commercial growth for new and established products, and facilitate the definition and implementation of clear, end-to-end lifecycles and network strategies. As a key enterprise role, you will make a significant personal impact on the success of multiple critical therapy areas and will be highly visible across the supply chain business as a result.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Developing robust Network recommendations and delivering persuasive arguments to senior management to support Network change.

- Driving the ongoing Network principles and design, working with relevant teams and specialists to ensure the manufacturing network is optimized in support of GSK’s ambition and patient needs. This includes coordinating across internal and third-party networks.

- Ensuring robust and complete data/analysis to support the development of network strategy and assured decision making.

- Providing portfolio/program management support, expertise and related services to teams/sites throughout the organization on a range of other projects and initiatives

- Driving optimal network design to secure compliance, cost and service to patient/customer aligned to the brand and franchise ambition

- To work with the teams across GSK to provide a coherent network strategy that is consistent across the whole of Pharma (Supply Chain, R&D; and Commercial)

- Understanding and linking with peer companies and related organizations to improve network design and performance

About You:

We need someone in this role who can use fantastic communication skills to engage and influence internal and external partners at all levels, forming positive relationships which ensure the best outcomes for the wider business. You’ll need to sell ideas and initiatives derived often from the bigger picture and be a credible champion for change management to successfully execute and drive these initiatives. You will need a deep understanding of our supply chains and experience of how our manufacturing sites operate. We work within a sophisticated, complex supply chain, so it’s also crucial that you can problem solve in this context, making decisions under pressure and sometimes with incomplete information, delivering multiple solutions where necessary. In the preparation of these solutions, strong analytical skills will be vital. In their delivery, your ability to matrix manage internationally, with respect to cultural diversity and diversity of thought, must combine with effective leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring etc to succeed.

- Degree level qualification

- Significant and broad supply chain experience

- Knowledge of industry standards, trends and expectations

- Experience working cross functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, R&D; and Commercial

- Experience of supply chain modelling based on data

- Hands on experience in change management

- Successful track record in project implementation and project delivery

- Strong understanding of risk management and compliance in supply chain

Preferred Qualifications and experience:

- MBA Qualified or other relevant higher education

- Knowledge of varied dosage forms and manufacturing processes

- Experience partnering with third parties
