The Staff Business Analyst’s role is to design, develop, and implement efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of functional objectives and business processes. The Staff Business Analyst focuses on the successful completion of small to moderate scope. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Staff Business Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
Strategy & Planning
Understand Finance business process, initiatives and operational issues and how current deployed Oracle Finance functionality/configuration relates to current processes.
Understand standard versus customized Oracle Financial capabilities and functionality with respect to unique company deployments.
Interface with Finance functional/strategic leaders.
Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Lead design sessions in prototyping new functionality for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing Oracle Finance functionality and develop strategies for standardizing, improving and further leveraging these solutions.
Guide the successful completion of major programs, processes and/or project for the department or function.
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing trouble areas in operating systems in the Finance functional area.
Create system design proposals.
Prepare documentation according to SDLC standards for modified functionality: Business requirements, process flows and cross functional integration to provide direction to technical architects.
Prepare documentation: Test scripts, integrated/regression test scripts, User acceptance test scripts, requirements validation, facilitate UAT.
Provide guidance and/or instruction to ‘Super User Network’ SMEs.
Responsible for trouble-shooting Level 2 production issues. Collaborate with Level 3 (Technical Architects and/or Oracle Support) to resolve issues that need further technical assistance.
Collaborate with Technical Architects to maintain and enhance performance of all new and existing software and applications across the organization.
Responsible for Oracle Financial set-ups and configuration.
Education & Experience:
Formal Information Technology or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 5+ year’s post qualification experience in a similar role managing Finance Business applications preferably using Oracle E Business Suite R12 to include some of the related modules such as:
Receivables, Payables, Cash Management, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, eBTax, European Localization, Subledger Accounting
Experience with Language : SQL, PL/SQL
Experience with Software : TOAD, BI Publisher
Technologies: SQL Loader, Data Loader, XML Publisher
A team player with strong technical and interpersonal skills.
Proven problem-solving skills with an ability to work on your own initiative.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Work in a SOx controlled environment
Language: Fluent English
Willingness to travel on company business
