"PhD in IT&OT; Security"
The rise of technologies such as cloud computing, Blockchain, secure multy-party computation,
artificial intelligence or quantum computing highlight the need to explore new applications of cryptography that allow, among others, the secure exchange of information between users, the mathematical manipulation of encrypted data, the search for information in encrypted data or the possible replacement of cryptographic methods, in restricted environments, that are able to withstand attacks perpetrated with a quantum computer.
These areas are important for Eurecat's IT&OT; Security unit, as evidenced by the existence of several projects related to post-quantum lightweight cryptography, searchable encryption or group encryption. In addition, other areas in which the unit is closely involved, such as artificial intelligence or machine learning, lend themselves to very interesting interactions with cryptography, such as homomorphic encryption, the focus of intense research in recent years.

- REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL Mathematics: Master Degree or equivalent
- REQUIRED LANGUAGES SPANISH: Good
Skills/Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
In the IT&OT; Security Unit we have a PhD scholarship available to carry out research, eminently applied, in one of the above cryptographic fields for a period of 36 months. The applicant profile is as follows:
Education: graduates in mathematics and/or computer science, computer or telecommunications engineers. Master's degree in advanced mathematics or mathematical engineering.
Programming: knowledge of a programming language such as C or Python is required.
Languages: a level of English equivalent to C1 is required.
