Position Description

Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager, this position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining StandardAeroa€™s CF34/CFM56 asset management strategy and is accountable for the uniquely reported P&L and return on invested capital. This position actively initiates and deploys the strategy by means of used serviceable parts procurement from 3rd parties, whole engine acquisition opportunity pipeline creation and sourcing, asset valuation, asset acquisition, performance reporting, cost analysis and risk management, and the resulting monetization decisions on asset tear-down, repair, sale, leasing, etc. to both internal and external customers.

This position also develops and drives cost effectiveness and savings derived from asset management in support of the companya€™s CFM56 and CF34 engine overhaul shops and ensures competitiveness throughout our asset management process.

Specific Accountabilities

i⤠Sets the strategic direction and vision for asset management for the CF34/CFM56 business unit.

i⤠Owns the P&L related to all CFM56 and CF34 asset management activities.

i⤠Directs, within the limits of delegated authority, the approval and control of the asset management function within the CFM56 and CF34 business units.

i⤠Identifies, analyzes and leads recommendations for engine and component purchase and sale opportunities based on inventory levels, internal operational requirements, cash projections, asset valuations, and return on investment.

i⤠Manages asset inventory including overall investment to match strategy and budget as well as actively maintains assets to ensure inventory matches fleet needs.

i⤠Prepares approval documentation, as required, detailing all factors related to the purchase or sale.

i⤠In coordination with the business units, negotiates sales and purchases of engines or components to maximize the profitability of the business unit while maintaining an acceptable level of risk.

i⤠Partners and collaborates with other functions to support strategic goals for souring engines and components to meet the business unita۪s operational requirements.

i⤠Interfaces daily with external partners/operators, sales and brokers, vendors and other consultants to ensure up-to-date knowledge of the current market conditions and engine and component availability and requirements.

i⤠Fosters strong relationships to ensure prioritized opportunity to purchase assets.

i⤠Creates a strategic plan for the development of the business unit asset management supplier and broker base.

i⤠Assists in evaluating service bulletins to support pre/post-purchase activities.

i⤠Develops strategic and tactical goals and objectives; continually evaluates the effectiveness of performance metrics in order to ensure the desired program outcomes/goals are attained

i⤠Champions the implementation of asset management continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Requirements

i⤠Strong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.

i⤠Understanding of aviation quality procedures and documentation including process paperwork, parts routing procedures, engineering repair instructions, work instructions and non-conformance reporting systems.

i⤠Competency in the overall CFM56 and CF34 programs and operators including design, repair, part reliability, design revisions, operational history, etc.

i⤠Proficiency in original equipment manufacturea۪s publications and work instructions including overhaul and maintenance manuals, parts catalogues and service bulletins, as well as asset traceability records, such as dirty fingerprint and logbook records.

i⤠Advanced Excel Application experience

i⤠Thorough knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.

i⤠University bachelor degree in business administration, finance or engineering; or equivalent.

i⤠Experience in commercial aerospace asset management, commercial sales, field service and/or customer service.
