Due to promotion, we're now seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Sales Development team.
This role will specialize in identifying qualified leads from demand generation activity and developing these to generate new pipeline for the sales force. You will work on specific programs & campaigns designed to create and develop pipeline. This position requires excellent communication skills that result in meeting or exceeding the assigned qualified lead targets. You will need to interact with field sales, internal sales, marketing, partners, prospects and customers to maximize the total Customer Experience.
Job Responsibilities & Key Objectives
- Follow up and qualify new prospects from demand generation activities
- Prospect, qualify and develop new prospects to appointments
- Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and obtain business requirements. Work closely with inside sales teams to determine a strategic approach
- Disseminate opportunities to appropriate sales team, educating rep as necessary about the opportunity
- Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections
- Build and develop initial customer relationships
- Meet or exceed assigned lead metric goals
- Manage and document the lead cycle in VMware’s CRM system
- Promote, develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of VMware products and services, industry trends, and competition
Skills & Requirements
- Native level of English
- A persistent, self-starter with a track record for success
- Credible follow-up and cold calling experience to multiple executive levels within an organization is a plus
- Successful experience in lead development is preferred (but not a must)
- Technology or similar industry experience is preferred (but not a must)
- Pre-call planning, outbound, and proactive cold-calling s an advantage
- Opportunity qualification and objection handling
- Structure and control a call
- Time and territory management
- Accurate data entry and management of leads in a CRM system
- A team player with the ability to work in a high-energy sales team environment
- Excellent phone, listening, and writing skills
- Ability to multi-task and operate successfully in a rapidly changing environment
- Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (Salesforce is a plus)
- A basic understanding of computing technology and comfortable discussing technology with customers
