As the Head of Quality, you are responsible for leading and developing robust governance, risk and quality frameworks, including policies, guidance and education. You will ensure GenesisCare Spain effectively monitors, measures and continuously improves GenesisCare Spain group processes in compliance with applicable regulation & professional standards and the quality of the clinical services it provides.

We need someone who is meticulous and energetic in their approach with a real drive to continuously challenge and stretch GenesisCare to provide the best care possible.





Key areas for the role:





- To act as an expert advisor on clinical governance, quality and risk management, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, national and local policies. To provide support to non-clinical governance where required;

- To support the Senior Management team, Regional Managers, Centre Leaders and employees to embed the principles of robust clinical governance and the quality agenda throughout the organisation;

- Develop and implement GenesisCare Governance, Risk and Quality strategy by developing systems of work to influence, measure and evidence continuous improvement;

- To help defining and lead best practice on quality and risk related matters and work with the business to support them in execution;

- Drive quality improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of clinical practice, including but not limited to credentialing, infection control and medication management;

- Maintain a national quality framework including:



- Incident reporting and analysis;

- Electronic documentation management;

- Credentialing and Scope of Practice management;

- Other systems as required.



- To monitor changes in regulation in relation to quality standards in order to ensure that policies and procedures are reconsidered and revised as appropriate;

- To assist in the development and delivery of quality and risk related training.





Reporting lines:





As the Head of Quality, you report directly to the Group Head of Quality with a dotted reporting line to the Spain Legal Counsel. You will also work very closely with the Chief Medical Officer, General Manager and Legal team in Spain as well as the global quality team.





You have 2 direct reports:



- Quality Manager;

- Quality Specialist.





Reporting lines and direct reports may change from time to time in line with the requirements of the role.





Your key responsibilities:





- To lead on the development and maintenance of GenesisCare Governance, Risk Management and Quality Strategy, ensuring that it is relevant to local and national requirements and is in line with all developments in GenesisCare;

- To support all stakeholders in relation to all aspects of governance and risk management by working closely with General Managers and Senior Managers in the development, implementation and review of clinical and non-clinical effectiveness and outcomes and patient safety;

- Provide expert and specialist advice in relation to risk management, incident management, regulatory compliance and complaints resolution;

- To implement and embed risk management strategy and process across the organisation;

- Operate collaboratively with internal teams to ensure care provided is safe and effective. This involves regular liaison with stakeholders at a senior medical and operational level;

- Act as GenesisCare lead for ensuring that the organisation and all centres are legally registered within the statutory and regulatory frameworks and is meeting Spanish Care Quality essential standards and outcomes;

- Regularly undertake audits ensuring consistent methodology and approaches;

- Responsible for the analysis and presentation of complex intelligence measuring progress against outcomes and recommendations;

- Lead a culture of Quality, Risk Management and Governance across the organisation through establishment and maintenance of support structures across the centres, developing expertise amongst staff;

- Play a key role in the implementation of Information Governance standards and processes at organisational level;

- Responsible for the design and production of regular reports relating to any aspect of Governance, Risk Management and Quality;

- To work collaboratively with the Legal team, CMO, People & Culture, Head of Operations, Regional Managers, Centre Leaders and other support functions to achieve strategic and operational objectives;

- Play a lead role in ensuring mandatory training requirements are met;

- To provide line management to direct reports;

- To provide strong leadership for any change management programme in relation to Governance, Risk Management and Quality;

- To support accreditation processes in relation to ISO9001, ISO27001, UNE179003, EFQM and others as required and lead the Quality and Governance workstream(s) in respect of business planning and development projects across the business;

- To ensure that effective mechanisms are in place to develop good governance across the organisation; including to chair/co-chair Clinical Governance committee meetings;

- To lead and ensure that the following processes for the organisations committees and sub committees are embedded by:



- Forward agenda planning;

- Supporting committee chairs in the formulation of committee Terms of Reference and standard agenda items;

- Managing the collation and circulation of meeting papers;

- Managing the production and circulation of minutes;

- Advising the chairs on procedural, risk management and governance matters.





Your key working relationships:





As the Head of Quality, you need to develop strong relationships with the following internal parties:



- Spain Leadership Team;

- Senior Managers;

- Heads of Departments;

- Regional Managers and Centre Leaders.





In addition, you need to develop strong external relationships with various individuals/agencies/key stakeholders.





Experience and skills:





- Excellent stakeholder management ability;

- Experience in Governance, Risk management and Quality;

- Successful track record in delivering Governance, Risks and Quality management systems;

- Successful track record of delivering and embedding change positively;

- Experience of care quality inspection regimes;

- Experience in delivering a comprehensive governance strategy within a healthcare environment;

- Experience of measuring and evaluating outcomes in order to drive improvement;

- Ability to interpret complex statistics and sensitive information;

- Production of reports including board reports within restricted timeframes;

- Health & Safety management;

- Excellent oral and written communication skills;

- Good IT skills;

- Ability to mentor and train others;

- Ability to write and implement polices into working areas;

- Ability to work in a team.





Qualifications and Knowledge:





- Educated to Degree level;

- Postgraduate in Clinical Governance or evidence of experience;

- Must have in depth understanding of healthcare, understand care quality standards and ISO Standards;

- Radiation protection regulatory knowledge in a private healthcare setting is desirable;

- In depth knowledge of compliance, governance and risk in the private healthcare setting;

- Experience in Corporate Governance, Risk management and Quality;

- Successful track record in delivering Governance, Risks and Quality management systems;

- Experience of care quality inspection regimes;

- Experience in delivering a comprehensive governance and risk management strategy within a healthcare environment;

- Experience of measuring and evaluating outcomes in order to drive improvement.





Other requirements for this role:





- Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and in a methodical manner as well as part of a team.

- Approachable with a professional manner.

- Effective time manager with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.

- Tenacious and resilient with an unrelenting approach to Quality requirements

- Flexibility to travel frequently around GenesisCare centres

- Fluent in Spanish and English.
