QUALIFICATIONSDegree from a respected institution is required, preferably with a focus on marketing, market research, or related area with excellent resultsSecond degree (MBA, PhD) or a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing market research projects and deriving customer insights is required, preferably at a market research agency, a research department at a consumer-oriented company, or in academic market research or modellingIn-depth knowledge of customer insights from any business sector (e.g., consumer, retail, B2B, etc.)Excellent knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research techniques, experience in developing surveys, executing them, as well as analyzing the data files to find relevant insights and implications (i.e.

very strong analytical and statistical skills, e.g., SPSS knowledge)Emerging depth in several areas of market research such as conjoint analysis, segmentation, branding and perceptual mapping, in-depths qualitative research, etc.Willingness to travel, i.e. not only back-office work as you will be working at the client siteClear team player, professional attitude and service orientationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFluency in English, German a plusWHO YOU'LL WORK WITHYou’ll be working in our Marketing & Sales practice in one of our German offices. The Marketing & Sales Practice strives to help client in both consumer and business-to-business environments on a wide variety of marketing and sales topics. The mission of this practice is to help clients achieve marketing-driven profit growth. Our clients benefit from our experience in core areas of marketing such as branding, customer insights, marketing ROI, digital marketing, CLM pricing, and sales and channel management.WHAT YOU'LL DOYou will work as a consulting team member to deliver strategic recommendations to clients grounded in relevant consumer and customer insights. Apart from your client-facing work, you will build and transfer internal knowledge as well as further develop our CSI practice.During your client-facing work, you will understand clients’ primary business questions and translate these into suitable research approaches, including vendors, costs, and issues to resolve in execution. Together with the team, you will translate input from various analyses (e.g., existing or new market research, customer database information, digital insights) into specific and actionable business recommendations. Moreover, you will support client development by helping teams understand how customer insights could be integrated into their overall approach.You will support McKinsey knowledge initiatives through in-depth support of customer insights needs – from developing research to execution to analyses and recommendations. In collaboration with other consultants, you will develop original marketing concepts centered on customer insights and run internal marketing/customer insights training programmes.Together with the leadership group, you will support externalization efforts on customer insights for audiences of existing and potential clients. Moreover, you will manage our relationships with external research agencies and support internal requests and initiatives.
