We are driving forward the digitalization of agriculture! We recognize the importance of having a well-organized data architecture and how this helps us to achieve a data-driven company.
We are currently seeking a talented person (Data Catalog) to join our team at BASF's Agricultural Solutions department. You will enhance data catalog and metadata management, ensure metadata quality, and work with teams and data owners to create transparency. Your role will involve developing standards, implementing the data strategy regarding metadata, and driving data catalog adoption to improve processes and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in resolving data-related business inquiries, focusing on data cataloging and data quality management.
2. Support backlog management by providing insights on timelines and deliverables in alignment with agile working principles.
3. Serve as a resource within your work area to translate business goals associated with the AP Data Catalog into actionable tasks, collaborating with corporate teams to implement effective solutions.
4. Identify and engage stakeholders within your specific work area who possess knowledge about data content, aiding in addressing data-related business questions.
5.
Collaborate with the Data Governance and Strategy team to utilize conceptual data models, taxonomies, glossaries, and ontologies that enhance data transparency and findability.
6. Contribute expertise to the development of frameworks, standards, guidelines, policies, and data quality metrics relevant to your area of responsibility.
7. Support the adoption of the data catalog by enhancing metadata processes and ensuring the quality of catalog content.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Purview, or Databricks Unity Catalog.
3. Familiarity with ontology and semantics to effectively support data management initiatives.
4. Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
