Description of the job

A position as Li-ion Battery Electrical Designer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join EYNE4 department.

The job takes place in Airbus-Spain, in a highly transnational environment. Frequent travels in Europe are required in this position. It is a great opportunity to learn and grow in aircraft electrical system architecture and design, at the heart of Airbus future.

Tasks & accountabilities

Aircraft Electrification is part of the strategic priorities of Airbus for the upcoming years.

In that context, the jobholder will be in charge to develop and integrate Li-Ion battery in Airbus Fleets. He/She will manage all necessary engineering actions to deliver a validated, verified and certifiable product, meeting the Program requirements. More precisely, he/she will have to define, specify and develop (with relevant suppliers) the battery system, including the storage module and its Electric-Electronic Sub-system / equipment, matching the required safety, quality and performance levels, according to Airbus systems engineering processes, airworthiness and needs of our customers.

Main activities are:

Ensure system/equipment development and apply specific knowledge on certification requirements for this technology within the requested time frame and allocated budget.

Specify considering the following factors: Safety, Quality, Systems Performance, Cost, Environmental, Operational and Industrial Requirements

Ensure that system/equipment performances are in accordance with the contractual specifications (cost, quality, time and maturity).

Management of all required interfaces (flight and lab tests, MAP, logistic, quality, product support, procurement, DCS, etc.), and interdependencies with the other systems.

Ensure a timely and efficient support to different airbus organizations depending on the Design Office data (Technical Publications, Airline operations, etc.)

Subcontractors follow-up (objective priorities, deliverable definition with associated acceptance criteria, deliverables acceptance, etc).

Supplier follow-up. Validation and Verification associated to the equipment evolutions.

Demonstration of compliance versus High level requirements.

Production of compliance data for aircraft certification.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Educated to Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.

Strong leadership skills are required as the jobholder will be a key actor of a multifunctional team (engineering, testing, procurement, programs"), and will have to ensure efficient suppliers monitoring and steering.
